SyncServer Time Server S600/S650 v5.0 Released

SyncServer Time Server S600/S650 version 5.0.4 further hardens the many security aspects of the most secure SyncServer time server, including the addition of secure syslog and TLS 1.3 support. Other additions include more PTP profiles, new BlueSky™ technology charts and alarms, more REST API calls, updated web GUI, and CVE mitigation. Read all about it in the 5.0.4 System Release Notice.
New BlueSky GNSS Firewall 2200 Features

New features that have been added to the BlueSky GNSS Firewall 2200 hardware include a new L1/L2/L5 GNSS receiver and new independent RF power monitoring of L1, L2 and L5 bands.

Our Frequency and Timing System Business Unit Participates in US Department of Transportation PNT Roundtable

Randy Brudzinski, corporate vice president and business unit lead of our frequency and timing systems business unit, was invited by the Department of Transportation (DOT) to participate in a meeting held on August 4, 2022, to discuss complementary sources of Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT). The meeting was held at the DOT’s headquarters in Washington, DC. We were one of only two suppliers of timing receivers in attendance. Other participants included telecom service providers, Lumen and Verizon, and representatives from a wide variety of US Government agencies, including the DOT, FAA, DHS, DoD, FBI and DOE. A handful of alternative Time-as-a-Service (TaaS) companies were also in attendance. These TAAS companies consisted of eLORAN advocates such as Hellen Systems and Ursanav, Low Earth Orbit (LEO) PNT providers such as Satelles and Xona and fiber connect services such as Hoptroff and OPNT.

“This was an excellent opportunity to provide solicited feedback to US Government officials on ways they can help bring complementary PNT offerings to the market and assist with adoption by critical infrastructure. Microchip was recognized as a leader in the PNT market, and it was honor to participate in the roundtable,” said Randy Brudzinski.

After opening remarks by Dr. Robert Hampshire, DOT deputy assistant secretary for research and technology and chief science officer; the US Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg, made an appearance to thank participants for their input on the important topic of complementary PNT to address the continued risks of being solely dependent upon GNSS.
