The Precise Time-Scale System (PTSS) is a fully integrated, world class timing system that offers the capability of providing timing accuracies comparable to those of the best national laboratories. This is achieved by combining up to six high performance cesium frequency standards or Active Hydrogen Masers (AHMs) in a time scale that drives the local Real-Time Clock (RTC) signal.

In turn, a high-performance timing quality GNSS receiver then provides the information used to steer the system output to UTC and generate GNSS Common-View (CV) data. Frequency standards can then be reported to the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) for inclusion in the international time scale.

PTSS by Microchip is a fully integrated solution, providing industry leading frequency stability, phase-noise performance, and time scale availability. Leverage Microchip’s s single rack Precise Time-Scale System to achieve a real-time local UTC time scale and/or apply the most accurate GNSS and Two-Way Satellite Time and Frequency Transfer (TWSTFT) techniques for measuring offsets between geographically dispersed clocks.

Active Hydrogen Maser

The MHM 2010TM is the only commercially available active hydrogen maser with stand-alone cavity switching auto tuning manufactured in the U.S. This technique enables the MHM 2010TM to deliver long-term frequency stability normally only attributed to the most stable cesium atomic standards.
